Hail Damage You Can't See Is Still Destroying Your Roof.

Even quarter-sized hail can knock granules off asphalt shingles — granules that protect the underlying mat from UV rays and water. Once they're gone, the clock starts ticking on your roof's lifespan.

Signs of Hail Damage

Granules in gutters, dark spots on shingles, dented metal vents or flashing, cracked or bruised shingles. None of these are visible from the ground — you need someone on the roof.

📋
What We Document

We photograph every impact point, measure hail hit density, document damage to shingles, vents, gutters, and flashing — everything your insurer needs to approve your claim.

💰
Insurance Coverage

Hail damage is almost always covered by homeowner's insurance. We've helped hundreds of Northeast Ohio homeowners get full roof replacements covered — paying only their deductible.

⚠️ Don't Wait Too Long After a Storm

Most insurance policies have a 12-month deadline for storm damage claims from the date of the weather event. The sooner you get inspected after a hail storm, the stronger your claim.

FAQs

Honest answers from the Atlas team.

How do I know if I have hail damage?+
The only reliable way to know is a professional roof inspection. Signs you might have damage include granules in your gutters, dented metal vents or flashing, and dark bruised spots on shingles. None of these are visible from the ground. If your area had a significant hail storm, we recommend getting inspected regardless.
Does hail damage always require a full replacement?+
Not always — it depends on the severity and coverage of the damage. If hail hits were sparse and the damage is isolated, targeted repairs may suffice. But if you have widespread granule loss across the majority of the roof, a full replacement is usually the right call — and is typically covered by insurance.
How long does the insurance claim process take?+
From inspection to approved claim typically takes 2–6 weeks depending on your insurer. We help move things along by providing thorough documentation upfront and staying in contact with your adjuster throughout the process.
